Erie Forge, in cooperation with the Lehigh Heavy Forge Corporation, forges, heat treats, machines, and assembles marine shafts for the United States Navy. Shafts are forged at Lehigh Heavy Forge on the 10,000 ton press and then shipped and finished to meet customer specifications at Erie. Quality is ensured by manufacturing items meeting MIL-S-23284 or ABS requirements. Erie has the ability to manufacture shafts in sizes up to 21 meters in overall length.
